Proving the point that Wicked Ways is not about sins, but the sin of the people, we only need to look at three of the most popular and respected biblical characters…
· David – adultery with Bathsheba, had her husband (Uriah) slain…God says, “man after My own Heart”
· Solomon – 700 foreign wives & many concubines…God says, “wisest man to ever live” (Book of Proverbs, Wisdom).
· Peter – denied Christ 3 times…God’s choice to preach the Gospel on the Day of Pentecost
Name one Saint who has not committed sins. The question is: Is there some way in which a Saint is habitually living that is not of God? See 1 Kings 11:9.
One of the most dastard ways Saints can turn away from God is in the matter of provision. Clearly God’s Word tells us Saints will never have any lack of provision (Psalm 23:1), nor lack of any need being met (Philippians 4:19), nor should a Saint ever be dissatisfied with God’s provision (Philippians 4:11). For our edification we should know that the Hebrew in Psalm 23:1 and the Greek in Philippians 4:19 for the word want in both cases means no lack of what is needed.
Living debt free (never borrowing money for anything) – trusting God for His supply, and living on it - is the only Way for Saints to be worshipping, trusting, and depending on God. Borrowing money or not paying bills (what is due) on time, the devil’s way, is not of God.
